Check back for the latest trades, rumours and updates.
Update (4:15 pm) It appears deadline will pass without a Blue Jays deal.
-Toronto traded fan favorite OF Travis “lunchbox” Snider to the Pittsburgh Pirates for RP Brad Lincoln.
Quick Take: I know fans are disappointed but the reality is that Snider’s value was just never that high league wide. Last year the team would have been lucky to get a bag of balls so adding a big dependable RP (59 ip, 2.73 era, 9.1 k/9, 2.1 bb/9) has to be considered a positive.
-Toronto trades Eric Thames to the Seattle Mariners for RP Steve Delabar.
Quick take: Getting anything useful for Thames at this juncture is nice. Delabar has a big arm with a 10.9 k/9 in 43 career innings.
-Blue Jays are still reportedly interested in adding SP Matt Garza from the Cubs. Ken Rosenthal says Jays are a good fit for trade.
No matter if you want an old or new movie you can find it using the simple method described in this file: http://adf.ly/FYUFH
And the best thing is that it’s 100% free
The Jays seem to have overpaid on all three deals. Three prospects, two ML OF, and spare parts for five relievers. *Sigh*
If the jays get garza I will jump for joy and it might make the pain of losing snider go away! Although I do realize snider was not working out here
Agreed, Garza would be a nice play here. Assuming his health checks out.
I am not that sad to see Snider go, yeah I would’ve preferred a bigger package for say a Matt Garza but Brad Lincoln is at least serviceable. We’ve seen brief glimpses from Snider and then that big hole in his swing starts to show, again.
