The Toronto Blue Jays continued lack of success in interleague baseball continues as the team lost two of three to the Atlanta Braves. The Braves can throw out a solid starting pitcher in almost every game and the Jays faced three solid pitchers in Brandon Beachy, Tommy Hanson and super prospect Julio Teheran.
The Blue Jays bats awoke in a big way in the third game to salvage one win in the series.
Blue Jays current record is 31-29, sitting 4th in the AL East, a full four games back of first place Tampa Bay.
Here are the quick recaps and boxscores:
Game 1 – Braves 4, Blue Jays 3 – Coco Cordero gives up 10th inning hit as Jays lose tough one.
Game 2 – Braves 5, Blue Jays 2 – Tommy Hanson solid over eight innings, Dan Uggla hits homerun.
Game 3 – Blue Jays 12, Braves 4 – Rasmus/Lawrie combine for five hits and two homeruns.
UP NEXT: A three game interleague set at home versus the Washington Nationals (35-23).
Stephen Strasburg pitches on Wednesday (12:35 start) – if you have a chance to see this guy pitch in person get down to the Rogers Centre!
